I used to go to a lot of concerts back in the '70s and was lucky enough to catch many great acts, some of which I actually remember. I continue to check out as much live music as I can today and am thankful to have saved many of my ticket stubs and concert reviews from the paper. Please contact me for corrections or additional information. (Listed in Chronological order)

There was talk of a Beatle reunion, wasn't there always in those early days though. But the talk was that Canada was the only place legally where it could happen. Nonetheless, a very impressive stage show with flawless sound. The crowd was both young and old, cool. Wings Over America Tour. Review
Pink Floyd Jun 28, 1975 Ivor Wynne Stadium, Hamilton

The band came out and played Wish You Were Here, not released yet. They took a 20 minute break and came out and played Dark Side of the Moon in it's entirety. The sound and stage show was incredible, but then again we are talking Pink Floyd here. Review

Rory Gallagher stole the show, Rick Derringers new band was entertaining. Henry Gross - wrong guy for this bill. Aerosmith were pretty good, Steve's voice cracked singing Dream On. Bob & I made up two boxes of T-Shirts to sell, we sold them all and it paid for the trip.

With very special guest: Nique Bruce. An open jam after the Sadler Brown and Nique play a set each. Sadler Brown had is wife Bev on single snare drum and his son Dylan on stand up bass. Nique in her first solo performance and even though she was nervous she got to play some of her original tunes. A great show all around. Nique had a bar tab - Yahoo!

Finally got to see 54-40. No fancy stage show or gimmicks, just great songs. The band had a great time, you could see it on their faces as I spent most of the show at front row centre. Guests: McCuaig - what a great rock band with bagpipes. I really enjoyed their high energy show. Standby For The Bomb - thumbs down. Pictures

Finally got to see Tom Petty. The Gorge is an awesome outdoor venue with the sun setting as the concert starts, then the moon rising over the hills behind, very cool. Temperatures at 8pm were still over 100F. Petty had the crowd rocking and singing along with every song. The sound was fantastic, the stage setup wasn't overpowering, just enough to light up the musicians and to keep the crowd focused on the music. Guest: Steve Winwood - complete with a very tight band playing some great tunes. The whole show was very impressive. Pictures Review
